Jean Louis (1907–1997) entirely re-imagined the 1970 United uniform into an all-season wardrobe for the wide-body jet era. Introduced in 1970, the mix-and-match collection’s base garment is a double-knit jumper in red with a black-trimmed scoop neck. #FashionInFlightFriday

This model of the Chicago was built by Edward Chavez in 1974. It represents one of the two Douglas World Cruisers that successfully completed the first aerial circumnavigation of the globe. Chavez chose to depict the aircraft in its seaplane configuration, complete with pontoons and support cradle.

This model of the Fokker T-2 was built by master builder Edward Chavez with assistance from Robert Fogg in 1968. Nearly every detail was meticulously recreated, including the open cockpit, large wooden wing, “Army Air Service Non Stop Coast to Coast” fuselage markings, and even the cabin interior.

Jun Kaneko arrived in California from Japan in 1963 to study painting and encountered the revolutionary work of Peter Voulkos, who was using clay as a sculptural medium. Ala Ebtekar's work is informed by light and illumination. He created "Zenith (VII)" by first applying a photochemical solution to a raw canvas. The light-sensitive material was then overlaid with multiple negatives from NASA's Hubble Space Telescope Image Archive and exposed to sunlight.
