Shots of Heliotrope's bedroom; fairy lights strung around the ceiling, posters and photo prints of fairies and pop girl groups. A giant unicorn stuffed toy atop an armoire. A fantasy winged dragon clutching a gemstone orb by a jewellery box and a toy karaoke machine. Her bed, painted with flowers and butterflies, a plastic gold medal hanging from her lamp, a squishy cat toy, and a book tucked under her pillow with a small hand-held flashlight nearby. A giant wolf plush on the bedding. In the dark, Sorrel takes all of this in from the doorframe while Heliotrope rushes to her hutch/desk. "My tablet! Still here, thank goodness! Ooh, fully charged, nice. Hmm… I can already tell we didn't bring enough bags for all my clothes…" As she speaks Sorrel brushes his fingers over some tape on the doorframe marking different heights; 11, 12, 12 and a half. H: "All the important books are on this shelf. Will they be too heavy to carry?" Sorrel dumps the duffel bag on the ground. "Not for us." Heliotrope is already over by some built-in shelves, putting books into one of her suitcases. "Okay, good. But I don't know how they're all going to fit…" Sorrel has his phone out taking photos. S: "Just focus on the things you can't replace. Anything else, take a picture of it and we'll buy you a new one." H: "Woah? Really?? Are we like… rich?"

Sorrel smiles in disbelief at a stuffed toy of a weird-looking pug dog. "Distastefully. Even without Dahlia whipping the stock market, the Duke & Duchess make enough off interest for all of us. We're running outta rubbish to spend it on, so go nuts." Heliotrope imagines herself in a little tophat swimming in a vault of money, then pauses in the middle of counting on her fingers. "Who are the Duke and Duchess?" S: "Oh, you've not run into them yet? They own the house we stay in. They do their own thing, mostly. You'll meet them soon enough." He points to the pug toy. "You want this?" Heliotrope turns away with a scoff. "That's a baby toy. No, I don't want it." Sorrel turns the pug back to stare into its beady plastic eyes. Heliotrope, deflecting: "But if you want it…" Sorrel tucks it into his tote bag. H (quietly): "Maybe I could get an American Girl doll… a real one…" Something tucked behind Heliotrope's dresser catches Sorrel's attention. "Well look at this! You've gotta take this, pet. I'll carry it." Heliotrope glances up only to scowl and turn away, pouting. "No, that's trash." Sorrel is holding a large corkboard covered in drawings, doodles, and writing, all under the hand-written banner "A Realm of Dust & Blood". Some of the drawings feature Princess Hemera and another unidentified Prince-like character. Sorrel: "Trash? Are you joking? Let's at least take the papers off and you can make a nicer display for 'em at-" Heliotrope: "I said no."

One of my fave aspects of Sanji will forever be that he flirts the way he does because he expects nothing back. He doesn't think he deserves to exist so he gives affection endlessly. It's why he overheats at hand holding or is oblivious to ppl liking him, he doesn't expect it😭

Beyond the light spilling from the foyer, everything is dark and still. Speech bubbles fill the page with no visible speakers. "Ready?" "Yep! Except I changed my mind about your boa. It's too much." "Oh, aye? If you think so. I still need all these necklaces, though?" "Yeah." "And both belts?" "Yep. It ties the theme together." "Alright, you're the boss." Some space between bubbles. "You know, we don't have to go if you don't want to." (Quickly) "You said once I could hold a glamour for two minutes-!!" "I'm not going back on it! Calm down. I'm just saying."

Sorrel Ballantyne and Heliotrope Jones stand on the threshold of the vampires' house, looking out at the dark. Sorrel is leaning on the doorframe dressed in black - a dress shirt tucked into skinny jeans with Chelsea boots, layered necklaces, and stacked rings. He has a duffel bag on one shoulder and a large tote on the other. Heliotrope is standing next to him wearing culottes and a large poncho, with her hair tied in two bushy pigtails, holding a vintage suitcase in each hand. Sorrel: "This'll be your first step into the world as the new you. Don't rush it if you're not ready." Heliotrope, puffing up, determined: "I was dead ready! Let's go get my stuff!"

Panels of just their feet show Heliotrope jumping down the porch steps while Sorrel treads behind. Heliotrope: "Ooh! Are you gonna fly me there?" Sorrel: "Sorry, love. What I do is more like- floating. Couldn't carry more than could fit in my pocket." Heliotrope: "Aw, that's not nearly as cool." Sorrel: "I won't argue with you there." Their feet move on to a sidewalk in a suburban area. Their dialogue implies that they are in the middle of a conversation. Heliotrope: "… But honestly I don't think either of them were that nice to her. She should've married Alice, she was the coolest one. Oh! Are there any other vampires in Seattle?" Sorrel: "Oh, loads. Not all of 'em are nice but. I'll introduce you to some of the cool ones if y'want." H: "Yes please!" S: "Alright, but don't hold your breath, we tend to lose track of time. (Aside) Y'know I thought the dad was good looking-" The scene transitions to them walking past a narrow dark alley between two homes. S: "But how does Hemera get back to the fairy realm?" H: "Because of her mom's fairy blood! She learns she can open the portal whenever she wants." S: "Well she's a clever girl." The dialogue shifts back into focus. "Alright, I think this place will do, nice an' discreet. Anyone coming, Bonny?" H: "Nope!" S: "Brilliant. Right - you're stronger now, y'know that. But you're not gonna be crushing anyone's hand instead of shaking it, like. You just gotta learn to surpass limits that aren't there any more." His rising hand illustrates this change. "So what you do is bend your knees-" He and Heliotrope squat in the alleyway- "And think of the biggest jump y'ever did in your life, then times it by three. Alright?" H: "Alright!" S: "On three- one, two-"

The two vampires leap so high vertically that they clear all the rooftops in the surrounding suburb, though Heliotrope has easily jumped twice as high as Sorrel, a tiny stick figure against the night's sky. She boggles down at the rooftops below her, bursting into laughter. Sorrel calls up to her, bemused: "That was more than three times!" Heliotrope: "Wow! Wow!! Whee!" An empty panel shows only speech bubbles: "Wait- how do I land!?" Sorrel: "Bend your knees! Let's try again-" [THUMP]
