Stemonitis slime mold aka Chocolate Tube Slime Mold. This one is part way through the maturation process. In a matter of hours, this will have turned brown, eventually becoming fluffy and blowing away in the wind or dispersing by way of rain drops, or other disturbances. NWT, Canada. #fungifriends

Somewhat grainy photo of a slice of moon peeking out from behind clouds low over urban lights. Quite a bit of cloud around it is lit; before the moon was visible it looked a little bit like a post-rainy dawn does; it's darker than it should be and between clouds you get bands of lighter sky.

Reykjavík weather update. The average precipitation in January for the city is 75 mm (rain/snow). So far, we've had 0.5 mm this year. Next week's forecast shows zero precip., and one small chance thru the 26th. Great for aurora hunting, terrible for the flora and fauna. #northernlights #iceland
