Another version of the four musicians at a pub table (in this one the woman on the right is singing). This is gouache, oil pastel and Daler/Rowney acrylic ink. I've kept all these mixed media works and hope to produce some more. There was one of a guitarist with his dog that wasn't finished.

A bit garish: not sure about this oil on canvas from a couple of years ago and now hanging in the smallest studio (I have two garden work spaces both of which are small). It went through various stages and became overworked. Probably will benefit from a few years hidden away. #violin #oilpainting

A very old watercolour of mine done from beside Grantchester Mill pond (I think the date says 1981). A long time ago but I remember being pleased with this one. I wish I still had it but it sold not long after being painted, #watercolour #Grantchester
A watercolour done from the bridge going across Grantchester mill pond in 1981. We lived nearby at the time so I could cycle to Grantchester and I did quite a few watercolours and some oils.

An ink drawing from an old A3 sketch pad. This one isn't dated but another drawing says 1988 so it must be from about then. I'm pretty sure this tree is standing by the Cambridge University Botanic lake. I did a lot of sketching there over a long period. #CUbotanicgarden

Mixed media drawing of Trinity Lane, Cambridge. The college on the left is Trinity Hall. I've painted this street often because I love the shafts of sunlight that streak across from between the old buildings. There is a lady walking a white dog and another locking up her bike. My mixed media drawings are usually on stiff paper or card and combine watercolour and gouache with oil pastel. The oil pastel creates interesting textures especially when water-based paint is scrubbed into it. The drawing is done with acrylic ink (there are some white highlights using white ink.
