This image is a parody flyer titled "Official Apology from InfoWars." It humorously claims that the InfoWars Store is apologizing for defective products, blaming "Communists" for sabotaging their manufacturing. It sarcastically describes potential negative effects of their products and offers refunds in Bahraini dinars or bat guano. The InfoWars logo is at the bottom. This image shows a recall notice for "InfoWars Kidz Kibble" in Chicken N' Ketchup flavor. The packaging features a smiling baby and cereal pieces. The notice states that the meal-replacement pebbles can be a choking hazard for children without adult teeth. The image is a recall notice for the "InfoWars Pregnancy Tracker App." It instructs users to uninstall the app and place their phone in a freezer. An email address for further instructions is provided.A black tactical bulletproof vest with "InfoWars" logo is shown. The text above reads "RECALL NOTICE" in red. It reminds me of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou - a film I somewhat enjoyed, but would have a hard time recommending to anyone because it is just so…odd is the right term.

I feel like I am DEFINITELY going to have opinions, but I am excited that I don’t know what they’ll be yet (unlike The Revenant, which I expected to be a dreary slog, and it was).

"This is your brain on drugs" was multigenerational (with the Rachel Leigh Cook version), and I remember the In Living Color parody and Bill Hicks joking about it. Definitely broke through the zeitgeist. I've used "I learned it by watching you!" in conversations often, though that might just be me.

Night. The House of Chimes - a tower which you might immediately think of as Big Ben - is adrift in the River Thames. It still seems to be keeping time. In the background, a large, alien building looms over the city of London.

I can somewhat understand mixing up Hawk and Hawkeye if you’re not a big comics reader; both are Silver Age heroes who went through gritty 90s reboots, with brothers playing key roles in their crime fighting and… Wait, I’m just hearing this is about sports. Nevermind, no excuse there.
Clint Barton as Hawkeye, rocking a blue and purple ensemble with a gruff grimace from all the arrows in his mouth.Hank Hall as Hawk, rocking a gray and black ensemble with weird streamers coming out the shoulders, and a gruff grin.

Tumblr screenshot. it reads:

Laptops are always so much more Fucked than phones in my experience. A laptop is like a beautiful horse that wants nothing more than to break all of its legs. A decently solid android phone will act normal

A laptop is a living creature. It has weight to it. A laptop breathes and produces body heat. And it wants to die badly. Mobile phones are not sentient like that & that's why they don't experience mental illness. A phone problem is like "out of storage :(" or "charging port broke". Laptops will cough weakly as they fade in and out of consciousness.

You will hold a laptop in your arms and it's like "I can't feel my legs". And you tell it girl you never had any

My thinking is Maggie's curse (all the men she loves die horribly) and Holling's family history (last in a line of pretty definitively evil men) - very Gothic theming, even if it is mostly lighthearted. I'd also make the case for Joel's arc being that of a Lovecraft protag descending into madness.

I think Northern Exposure is a great point of comparison - it also leans into the weird fiction undertones (and even borderline horror on occasion), but is more a 75/25 comedy-horror split.

Peter Cullen Bryan, PhD @pcbryan.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
The comedy often seems to set up some greater horror - it undercuts a moment of dread to reassure that the characters are being a tad paranoid, before the monster shows up. But also, just uses horror generally for jokes (who can forget "Run"?).
