Got my first package of native seeds from someone in the Michigan native plant group on FB and she sent so much!!! I've never even heard of red whiskered clammyweed but she sent some of those plus about 8 more. I'll save some for winter sowing and add the rest to my seed mix.

Planted my two baby hazelnut bushes (twigs.) I've got about five ninebark saplings I need to find a place for yet. I may plant those back by the stream in the spots husband pulled out amur honeysuckle this spring.

Turns out I still know almost all the words to Joan Osbourne's Relish album. I don't think I've listened to it since I got married. I miss who I was (well, not the conservative evangelical bullshit but my actual personality and the way I expressed it.) I'm finally feeling more like her again.

I am now looking at a mountain of apples to turn into sauce and am debating getting out the old Victorio food mill, which would mean not having to peel or core but is a pain to set up and clean, or peel and core up front and hit it with an immersion blender at the end.

Made it to the apple orchard where I shit my pants about 8 years ago and happy to report that they now have porta potties. I have avoided it all these years but was feeling brave today and now I know it's a safe space for my colon. Got some Cortland apples for sauce and some Ludacrisp for eating.

It does not escape me that, back in July when Miss 13 had her well child check up which was required in order to discuss psych meds, I had my period and was struggling. And now that we're having the psych medicine appointment, I have my period and am struggling.

There's a female house finch with a terrible injury to her back that's been surviving for a couple weeks now by sheltering in our landscape bed at night and camping out under the feeders during the day. She can fly a little but not very high and it's sort of a crooked, sideways flight. Poor thing.
