It’s my considered belief that TPU/FSU coordinated with National/ACT to get Rainbow and Derby appointed to the Human Rights Commission. I don’t have any proof though other than the fact the ACT Party Chief of Staff supported Rainbow’s application. But Hager’s insights makes it plausible.

People really misunderstand the sunk-cost fallacy. It’s rational to abandon sunk costs if you won’t get the appropriate payoff if you continue. But it’s also rational to point out the people/processes/thinking that led to the sunk costs and take appropriate action to avoid them happening again.

At the risk of opening up a Pandora’s box of discourse - it seems that the Opportunity Party is key to a centre-left victory, of course depending on future poll results leading up to the election. If the party is polling around 5% then should we consider tactically giving them our party vote? 1/4
