I'm sure the Kremlin was delighted we voted to leave the EU, but I also think it's passing the buck to blame it on Russian interference. Russia's role in Brexit was tiny compared to that of unscrupulous hedgies, ambitious politicians and decades of lies from right wing newspapers.

I run a machine first website and I'd say 90% of the robots that visit it are spoofs, pretending to be frontier AI models, or reputable SEO tools. And you can trace which data centres the spoofs route from. I might just have to check my logs to see if bots register to Yandex have indeed dropped.

Paul Hebden @paulhebden.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
On a more nerdy level, the idea this caused a drop in Russian bot activity is circumstantial. Without access to server logs at X or Threads or Facebook, how do you prove that this caused a drop in bot activity? Also, those bots can be routed through data centres elsewhere in the world very quickly

It's obviously true that Russian data centres were hit. I imagine that's why Elon is so pissed off. Not sure if the data centre escalation is on Ukraine? Like, has Russia been targeting them too? Probably. What it does do is make data centres outside Russia/Ukraine a target for sabotage.

It would be really useful if a politician was willing to talk about the crisis of religious identity in the UK. It feels like a really important one to be had, particularly if you are Muslim or Jewish. But also if you are a white Christian. >>>

At first I thought something weird was going on but then I realised No, it’s simply planes based in Oxfordshire going off to fight a war that the UK is not involved in, so I went back to sleep www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
The first time the window-rattling roar of a B-1 bomber woke me up this summer, I thought for one crazed second we were under attack.
By the second time, I'd learned to recognise the sound of US planes taking off from their base at RAF Fairford for what it was: a reminder that although Britain wants no part in this war with Iran, we cannot quite escape the consequences.

The economy is just a giant wealth protection machine. If you're lucky enough to inherit or accumulate wealth, you'd have to be an utter idiot to lose, let alone grow that wealth. It's literally the hardest thing the world to do, far harder than... You know being economically productive, or working.

Like wealth has gone from X3 GDP to like x7 GDP, since 1990. That's not productive, its mostly socially useless flows of property and pension wealth.

I don't think people realise just how impossible it will be for a future non Republican US president to undo what the republicans have done. Like, it would require years of boring party consensus just to reverse the corruption. To prosecute wrongdoing and that's never happening.

A fascinating editorial decision from the BBC, to make the headline a scaremongering “AUTISM AND ADHD ARE BEING OVERDIAGNOSED”, and then, four bullet points later, have the author of the report quoted as essentially saying “nah, that’s bullshit, actually”.
ADHD and autism at risk of over-diagnosis, says report, as author warns of rise in mental ill health
Summary
• An official review in England finds there is a risk of people being over-diagnosed with
ADHD and autism - three key findings from the report
• As well as neurodevelopmental conditions, the review looks at mental ill health, particularly in younger people. Our health correspondent explains the difference
• It was commissioned earlier this year after Wes Streeting, then the health secretary, said there was an "over-diagnosis" of mental health conditions
• Speaking to Radio 4's Today programme earlier, review chair Prof Peter Fonagy said Streeting was "with respect, completely wrong"

I've had a newsworthy piece of climate research spiked x5 TIMES this year by broadcasters, despite meticulous research into the localised impact of climate change on poorer working class communities, in a particular region of the UK . But climate sceptic comms get a free pass. Our media is a joke.
