Again, what right wing Republicans and Democrats call "socialism" is the sort of regulated capitalism that was consensus for much of the 20th century. They pretend it's anti-market when really it's only anti-oligarchy

We live in an era when most people of Cole Allen's age can probably name more school shooters off the top of their heads than they can activists who've successfully brought about institutional change, or politicians who've passed legislation that positively impacted their lives. That's sad.

This post by a MAGA activist/influencer in Oregon perfectly encapsulates the anti-democratic epistemological bubble she & her audience inhabit. When I think about a protest that says "my team lost and I can't handle it," January 6 is the first thing that comes to mind. But apparently, not her.

There's a long, bad journalistic tradition: All conservative grass-roots political movements are fascinating heartland phenomena, all progressive grass-roots political movements are ineffectual bleating. This one is written off as powered by white female college grads--the wine-moms slur, basically.

Charlie Kirk was a very effective propagandist in opposition to the secular, religiously pluralistic democracy that the United States has been for as long as anyone on earth has been alive. He hated the country he lived in, and wanted to radically change it into something it never was.

Why does MAGA allow Trump to commit any crime, including cover up for pedophiles? Because he is God's rough-hewn servant. Why would a woman argue for her own subjugation? Because God demands it. You cannot stop these people if you do not admit why they are doing this. /end

I don’t doubt people in the party are enjoying the meltdown as much as the rest of us. But if the thought is, ‘Oooh, maybe he’ll give us money now,’ it’s both another commentary on Citizens United and, more importantly, a reminder of how standing for nothing is killing the party.
