If you’re a TV writer (or doing any collaborative creative job) you will encounter problems in other people’s work. So this week’s #Scriptsky #Screenwriting thread is about THE THREE WAYS OF DEALING WITH SOMEONE ELSE’S ISSUE. Two options will lead to more problems and one will keep you employed.

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights** Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight.
From meteorologist Eric Snitil

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights**

"Heads up birders, I would not be surprised if the biggest bird migration night of the year happens over the next 2 nights. Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight. That is a lot, but the pattern could not be better for migratory birds. A massive area of high pressure will turn the low level winds from the northeast to the southwest across most of the US. The last time we had anything similar to this in the fall was early October last year when a record 1.25 billion birds were in flight. I doubt we get to that level, but I suspect the number will top 500 million especially Monday night which looks to be the bigger of the two nights. You can help by turning off those outdoor lights on big migration nights, and the next 2 nights is about as big as it gets."

It's not just that streamers are doing TV but more expensive. They also decimated necessary practices like practical budgets and dependable production schedules. Then, with shortened episode orders & smaller staffs / crews, made it so no one under 40 can break in anymore unless they're connected.

Cabbagetown Video was my university job. I got paid in cash and the owner, who lived upstairs, would make us rum and cokes. There was a tiny adult section we had to keep an eye on (shudder) and I got my first film set work through a grip who was a regular there.

The Beguling is more my speed, it skews more quirky lit stuff and Peter there gives amazing recs. Silver Snail is more Marvel DC superhero stuff, not as big as they once were but a solid store in a fun area. But they both have a bit of everything.

Meeplemart on Spadina for game stuff, The Beguling a little further north on College or Silver Snail on Queen for comics, Sonic Boom for music. Also close - the AGO, the Well, Waterworks Food Hall. The Cameron House is always great for cheap drinks and live music.

A very, very good reason to love Canada - in the twilight of his career, they hired Buster Keaton to drive a one-man rail maintenance vehicle from the East Coast right across to the West Coast, and gave us this 25 minute treasure. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYmc...

I’ve worked in the art department on productions and we would either pay for the rental / display of a work on screen, or we would commission an artist to create something, meaning we had the rights to do whatever we wanted with it.

EP / Co-EP level writer from Canada. I won some awards for Cardinal, which is probably the closest to my personal taste in the TV I’ve done. I’d love a chance to work on shows outside the worlds of cops and doctors at some point. I’m also a novelist. Dream room right now would be Widows Bay.
