My second novel comes out exactly one year from today, August 27th 2027,. 'The House in Drowning Lake' is about the mysterious dwelling found when a small town drains its reservoir. Damp creepiness ensues. Pictured, me writing it.
The Lost Correspondent, a piece from Grenada's Underwater Sculpture Park, is a man sitting at a desk working on a typewriter at the bottom of the ocean. The sculpture is coated in green algae.

Watching a movie with Jan Michael Vincent, who I remember well from my young days watching Airwolf on TV. Somehow I'd forgotten his character name... Let me introduce you to STRINGFELLOW HAWKE.
Jan Michael Vincent, with a squint the could cut glass, looks into a shattered distance as his attack chopper Airwolf floats behind him in the fiery halo of exploding bad guys. Imagine if testosterone had a profile pic.

As others have said, I was happily surprised by Underwater! There's also Sphere and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (x2). The Meg and Deep Water if sharks at research stations count. And then there's The Rift, awful but it's got Bluesky cred for this line:
A still from the movie The Rift. A man in sunglasses and headphones lies in a bunk while another man wakes him, saying 'Let's go, Skeets! Emergency meeting in the galley, ASAP!'

Here we go! Can't wait to get this out there. One of the wettest horror novels you'll ever read.
Publishers Marketplace Deal Report for The Reservoir House by Patrick Tarr, from May 14, 2026. The synopsis reads:

Patrick Tarr’s THE RESERVOIR HOUSE, after the lake bordering a small town is drained for dam repairs, a mysterious house is found on the bottom. A local boy winds up dead inside it, initiating a chilling two-sided investigation that spirals further into darkness as tragic events continue to plague the town. As the truth begins to surface, linked to a series of drownings decades earlier, it’s clear both the town and the house conceal something that defies all rational explanation, to Janice Zawerbny at Harper Canada, for publication in August 2027, by Samantha Haywood at Transatlantic Literary Agency (Canada)

My reads of 2026 are off to a great start. Such a rich and detailed dark fantasy world, not like anything I've read before. And @sjshank.bsky.social created a compelling and amusing main character in Jeppo, a disreputable underdog with a more than a few tricks up his sleeve.

I used this service, and my cuddle buddy came back different. He's watching me now, trying to loosen the stitching on his mouth when I'm not looking. I'm worried what happens when he gets it open. But the number on the sign has vanished. I don't know where to turn.
