I have considered how I could do the WHW in small chunks though, I don't think my disabled body could keep up with the pace of 8 days walking nonstop, and even if I could it'd probably be PRETTY MISERABLE whereas I'd like to take my time and enjoy things

Sometimes I'm glad I have a cat to tether me to reality slightly, because on several occasions now I've thought "perhaps I could do the West Highland Way when I inevitably get horribly depressed later in the year" Yeah yeah, perhaps I could do the WHW... in winter??? No chance.

Apparently I'm in a ranting mood so I'm adding this separately since it isn't directly relevant to the original post but like. I have lost count of how many Gaelic learners will get things blatantly wrong and then get incredibly hostile when a native speaker corrects them.

I find it deeply weird how many resources for beginner BSL learners highlight the benefits to me as a hearing person tbh. Or when people online are like "learning sign language is helpful even if you're not deaf because (insert whatever situation where you may not be able to use verbal speech)"

There are SO MANY unidentified mushrooms on iNat and I want to help with that, but mushroom ID is so hard. Hence the reason there's so many unidentified mushies. But it Bothers Me!

I've noticed way fewer moon jellies by the shore than there were when I was a kid. I remember growing up, it was always moon jellies that got washed up on the shore and you'd rarely see a lion's mane. Now it's all lion's manes all the way down, and sometimes blue jellyfish. Where'd my moons go? :(

My review of the 2006 Wicker Man: that's definitely a film that happened! Perhaps one of the films of all time! It kind of felt like an improv group taking on the horror genre. Or like everyone was in on it and they just got Nicolas Cage to be there and he had 0 clue what was happening. Great film.

Just paid over £400 for a cremation and urn for one of our cats, and now the other one looks like she possibly has asthma and may need a chest x-ray so that'll also be Money. Fucking hell, pets are expensive and we don't have the finances for all of that.

In true me style, I saw a mushroom that immediately excited me because it looked like one the Scary Amanita Species but I was so excited I didn't get good photos to actually ID what it was 😭 so did I see a poisonous guy or was it just a white dapperling? We'll never know I guess.

There was an injured pigeon that kept showing up on my balcony, and I felt bad for him so I made him a little shelter and gave him some food. And it appears he's told his local pigeon friends about it and now I have at least 5 pigeons on my balcony at any given moment 🫩

I love an audiobook, but I've probably listened to Dune 1-3 more times than I've had hot meals and I still can't tell you what happens in those books, because I inevitably fall asleep at some point.
