One of my biggest pet peeves in comics is that they don't print the variant covers inside the book. The last page should be a little gallery of all of the covers for that issue. Both for traditional comics and things like Heavy Metal.

I can't believe how hard the cubs choked in the postseason. They looked like a college team playing against the major leagues. It shouldn't feel like a miracle to score one point over two games.

it’s been driving me insane there are sooo many grad school romance plots you can have that are fun and cute and this is what we get, dating a professor 😬 idk what to expect from fanfic but irritating to watch this become a mainstream film when like every single one of us has been harassed by a prof

I've had an ex libris stamp for a couple years, but I'm finally getting over my nerves about "ruining" a book if I use it. It was an especially stupid concern considering most my books were bought for <$10 used, so it's not like they have much resale value anyways.

Hot take: the NFL shouldn't allow any pauses in the last minute of game time. I'm sick of teams using time outs and whatever other timekeeping trickery to make the last 5 seconds take 10 minutes.

Pen, watercolor, black & white charcoal pencil.

Another featured piece from the Spooky Pants book.

A man in a sweater stands with his hands on his hips looking out of a large window with the curtains open. Things aren’t looking good outside, reader. A massive winged demon is emerging from the clouds as dozens of little ghosts and bone demons rip through the sky. On the ground below we see townsfolk running through the grass. Our man in the window is in no mood for this. He lets us know, “Oh, I am in no mood for this.” His dog looks out the window as well, wagging its tail.

Fantasia (1940) inspired drawing. I think I could’ve gone a little heavier with the chaos outside but we’ll try again with fresh drawings this October. I like how the clouds turned out. Trying to balance my sloppy lines with more detail can be tricky but I think we achieved a good result.

I just heard a podcast ad about someone's gofundme for a liver transplant. I generally try to be positive but I just don't know how to hear something like that and not get depressed about how evil this country is and how nothing will make it better.

I caught the cutest thing ever on the Katmai bear cams
A photo of a large brown bear, taken from behind, laying on the ground with her back legs splayed out. Her two cubs are laying against her right side, both using her butt as a pillow. They're laying next to a river

I used to get the magazine of science fiction in fantasy in high school, and I still fondly think back on that. At the time I didn't realize it was the end of an era for that kind of thing, and I probably would have kept hold of the issues if I did.

About once a week I wish that we still lived in an era where I could get mailed fiction magazines, but then I remember I barely set aside enough time to get through an issue of Hard Drive before the next one comes out. There's no way I would get through a book length magazine.

Not sure if people know Wakefield was trying to sell a competing measles vaccine when he made up his fraudulent study about the MMR. It was only after that failed (because he is a complete fraud) that he started grifting off opposing all vaccines. It’s all just a grift. Antivaxxers are their marks.

I had this idea from reading the elizabeth holmes mouse post and then I couldn't do anything else until i painted the idea to completion
It is a cartoon mouse, like Jerry from Tom and Jerry, shaped like a wedge of cheese presumably because it has eaten a wedge of cheese. The mouse has Elizabeth Holmes' face. The mouse is saying "Why would I deceive you? There's no reason for me to do that."Nathan Fielder, looking into a fridge where the mouse has eaten a cheese, says skeptically "Okay. Alright."

The new Spider-Man is pretty good from a superhero movie perspective, but really bad from an RNA biology perspective. They act like it's hard to silence a specific gene using siRNA rather than the whole reason it's used. Not to mention that they misunderstand the relationship between DNA and RNA.
