Something I learned from interviewing survivors of abuse and institutional betrayal is that by being willing to identify a problem, you are often treated as the problem. The institution will try to get rid of you instead of the problem. To me, this also speaks to the way the left is treated broadly

Tumblr acct stimmyabby says:

Sometimes people use "respect" to mean "treating someone like a person," and sometimes they use "respect" to mean "treating someone like an authority."

And sometimes people who are used to being treated like an authority say "if you won't respect me I won't respect you" and mean "if you won't treat me like an authority, I won't treat you like a person"
And they think they're being fair, but they aren't. And that's not okay.

Response from user do-as-your-told:

This is so well put I am stunned

Stop making Neurocracy come true 2025 challenge
Criticism

Following Omnipedia’s announcement on June 18th 2049, some criticism was levelled at its purported status as a successor to Wikipedia. In an op-ed published by The Guardian, Omnipedia was called out as a “deliberate effort to destroy one of the greatest collaborative human achievements, only to replace it with a tightly curated mouthpiece for corporations and sponsors.” The op-ed also branded Hsiung’s call for former Wikipedians to join Omnipedia as “adding insult to murder.”

7. The guidelines slam the Cass Review, saying they do not have much applicability to the German guidelines due to severe methodological shortcomings and transparency. They especially critique the lack of transparency in the advisory committee and the lack of expertise:
“Medical professional societies were not recognizably involved in the preparation of the report. A so-called “Assurance Group” was appointed, but it was explicitly not involved in the development of recommendations for the Cass Review. There are reports that an “Advisory Board” was also established. The composition and specific contribution of this “Advisory Board” are not documented (Ruuska et al., 2024; Cass, 2024),” read the guidelines.
