Whilst at the outdoor play area at Pensthorpe today with the family, I checked the underside of some Red Oak leaves. Eventually I found the aphid (Lineo)Myzocallis walshii (influentialpoints.com/Gallery/Myzo...). It looks like its new for the @panspecieslisting.bsky.social list and iRecord.

A search for 𝐸𝑟𝑦𝑠𝑖𝑝ℎ𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑖𝑖 led me to its British stronghold in Oxfordshire, where I soon found it at Hartslock NR. This high-quality chalk grassland was also the site of my 4,000th species in the British Isles, a day shy of five months after my 3,000th and a couple of days before my 17th birthday.

Banded General (Stratiomys potamida) - a very handsome soldier fly we found on Buxton Heath yesterday. It REALLY didn't want to fly, given the strong winds, so allowed a very close approach. @norfolknats.bsky.social @panspecieslisting.bsky.social

An Alternative Natural History of Sussex. This blog shows the highlights of my day to day findings as a naturalist and ecologist living and working in Sussex.
