ChatGPT just created 50 working #Containerlab files for me with different lab scenarios and initial configs ready for me to learn, break , and fix. This is really cool !

Haven't looked at #Vyos in a long time but turns out they now have a VPP (Vector Packet Processing) option alongside kernel for dataplane

Random historical MPLS thing I learned today, surprised I hadn't seen mentioned before: there was once an attempt to make a version of LDP that could do constraint-based traffic engineering. datatracker.ietf.org/doc/rfc3212/ Wikipedia says the IETF stopped progressing it in 2003 in favour of RSVP.

datatracker.ietf.org

RFC 3212: Constraint-Based LSP Setup using LDP

This document specifies mechanisms and TLVs (Type/Length/Value) for support of CR-LSPs (constraint-based routed Label Switched Path) using LDP (Label Distribution Protocol). [STANDARDS-TRACK]

Another outstanding blog by my guy Bryton Herdes and his colleagues at Cloudflare (Iliana Xygkou and Mingwei Zhang) on a new-ish feature called BGP roles. By explicitly defining who is a customer, peer, and provider, route leaks can be caught and ignored early. blog.cloudflare.com/rfc9234-bgp-...

BGP Role model: tracking the adoption of RFC 9234

RFC 9234 lets routers reject route leaks on their own, using BGP Roles and the Only to Customer attribute. We measured who has deployed it, and found two Tier 1 networks unexpectedly stripping OTC.

After being super impressed with the T14 Gen 1 Ryzen 7 , I just ordered another T14- the Gen 3 Ryzen 7. I now have 3 Thinkpads in total and it feels I am collecting them like Pokémon’s 😎

⚠️ Confirmed: Network data show a national scale internet outage in Spain, with nearby countries including Portugal and France also affected; the incident is attributed to a regional power outage impacting multiple countries 📉🔌

Graph from NetBlocks showing the network connectivity in Spain, from April 18, 2025, to April 28, 2025. The y-axis represents normalized connectivity, ranging from 0% to 100%, and the x-axis represents the dates. The green line representing Spain's connectivity remains stable at around 100% throughout most of the time period, with a sharp drop on April 18. The drop in connectivity aligns with a power outage. The minimum and current connectivity levels are indicated as 17% and 17%, respectively. The chart has a dark background with a red circle highlighting the decline at the end of the period.
