That reminds me of a story I saw somewhere about the US updating some nuclear parts. When they rebuilt this specific goo material, they made it super clean and perfect...but it wouldn't work anymore. After tons of research, they discovered, that it only worked because the original had impurities.

Fair point. It's never going to be perfect. I'll try my best, but realistically don't have the bandwidth for that process. That's why I use lists. I'm going to lose people in the void, and they are going to lose me. But the odds are pretty good they'd never have seen me regardless.

I think the secret sauce is in lists. It’s a huge value proposition to just click once and block this regularly updated list of known nazis, or crypto spammers, or whoever. It’s much easier to have a dialogue if the people who aren’t arguing in good faith are on mute.
