I’ll find out about the game when I play it, but I can say right now that this is fun.

For obvious reasons, I haven't talked much about it on here, but my father died suddenly while cycling. Grateful to @sltrib.com for letting me eulogize him and write about the absolute moral necessity of making roads safer for pedestrians and bikers.

Voices: Deaths like my father’s are not anomalies. They are the bloody cost of our car-obsessed world.

“We can, we must, take action now, before some new senseless death proves the need for change all over again,” Grace Benfell writes in an op-ed.

Lost one of my heroes today. Slinger Francisco, also known as Mighty Sparrow, passed away at 91. Trinidad's most famous calypsonian, always infusing his songs with sharp political wit and humor. A friend and influence to many, including Van Dyke Parks. Here he is performing "Jean & Dinah."

Somehow, @mads.haus convinced me to publish a Sonic essay on Stop Caring. Please read/share this beautiful essay on Sonic the Hedgehog, its ecological themes, and how Sega's current and future actions might potentially jeopardize its own environmentalist messages. www.stopcar.ing/never-give-u...

Reading an article about some “network state” horseshit and it’s like… some people think a government run like a for-profit corporation is somehow going to be an improvement? I mean, I get how the people reaping the profits might think so, but how is anyone else convinced?

My dissertation was about how present day molecular biology and bioinformatics are constituted by everyday interactions between humans, biological materials, machines, code, and statistics. I love laboratory studies. It was probably the only chance I'll ever have to write one!

Lately I’ve been playing Big Walk, Ace Combat 7, and Neon White. Call that from the earth to the heavens.

And after all that trouble with ace combat 7 mission 12, 13 only took a couple tries. Much more forgiving. Having this tune kick off right from the start might have had something to do with that, too. #optionalplaying

Macklemore has been saying #FreePalestine for a minute. That’s not what disrupted the status quo. What disrupted the status quo was a stadium full of people cheering. 1/2

The reason Kanye is allowed to continue to work & Macklemore isn’t is because the people making these decisions don’t care about preventing antisemitism they care about protecting settler colonialism.

I watched that new Kirby trailer and my first thought is that some cosmic entity was finally clever enough to build an enclosure around the all-consuming power that is the pink puffball while he slept.

If you have trouble reading anything longer than a paragraph without doubting the authorship, the problems might be in how and what you read.

Cool how traveling around Qud, getting lost, pushes you into situations off the main quest. I've started beating my head against Bethesda Susa. But then I found this village, Bey Lah, and wound up on this quest of being a small town detective. Neat! #optionalplaying

Man, the time limits for mission 8 in Ace combat 7 are too strict. Tracking truck convoys in a sandstorm while being missile locked by drones is not a great recipe for speed. #optionalplaying

5 seconds faster going up the big hill near my house today, that’s a new best for the year. Running downhill from that contributed to my best mile time so far for 2026, at 8:07. Down 6 seconds. Not bad! #optionalrunning

Hampshire College started with a grand promise: to serve as "a vehicle for the realization of self in society." This fall, the school will close its doors. Private liberal arts schools were never going to kickstart the revolution. But the closure of Hampshire College further narrows the political imaginary.

The way House House set up the toys in Big Walk is so fun. The walkies and flashlight, are clear in utility but also goofy within the world and the game. Walking in front of someone with a flashlight produces a giant ant bird silhouette. Found the megaphone and that's even sillier.
