How hard and how long can you work in hot temperatures? The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health has issued recommended work/rest schedules for different temperatures: www.cdc.gov/niosh/docs/2... TL;DR: The hotter the temp, the longer you should rest
Color-coded chart showing recommended work/rest schedules based on air temperature (90–112°F) and workload intensity (light, moderate, or heavy). Rows list temperatures in degrees Fahrenheit, and columns indicate whether normal work is recommended or specify work/rest intervals (for example, 45/15, 30/30, or 20/40 minutes). Cells are shaded from green (normal) to yellow, orange, and red to indicate increasing heat risk, with dark red labeled "Caution." Two example callout boxes explain that at 104°F, heavy work should follow a 20 minutes work/40 minutes rest schedule, and at 108°F, moderate work requires extreme caution because the risk of heat injury is high.
