My comments during the debate last Tuesday on protecting the Old Cork Prison from demolition. The Taoiseach says it's "late in the day" for Cork City Council. In truth, we wrote to the government in January — as soon as we got wind of their plans to drop the site from housing. They just ignored us.

I cannot emphasise enough how this "crisis in government" is not about any budget or policy decisions. It's about who gets to post first on Facebook about the funding announcement to redo the toilets in a dressing room — to make out your local TD had a hand in it. Peak Fianna Fáil/Fine Gael.

Statement - Gavin Bazunu

Representing my country means everything to me. I have the utmost respect for every single one of my team mates, the Manager, his staff and the Irish people

However I have reached a decision that I have hot taken lightly. I am a man of strong faith and try my best to be a person of character and principle therefore 1 feel it would be wrong to participate in the upcoming fixtures against Israel.

My decision is based purely upon my personal belief that the killing of innocent people is wrong.

It is important to note that my stance is not in opposition of the Israeli people or the Jewish community but against the atrocities in the region.

There are few times where you get a chance ir ife to stand up for something bigger and strongly believe that this is one of them

This is unhinged. 75% of Irish farmers produce food even cancer societies say you shouldn't eat more than three times per week — and is responsible for more than a third of our greenhouse emissions. Led up a dead-end by an industry that can't imagine anything else, even as CAP is being slashed.

Ellen, overall, on balance, I agree. What you say about traffic on Ballyhooly Road being less congested is something others have said to me locally too. It's important that these perspectives are stated locally (by residents themselves). In all things, it is those who speak that set the narrative.
