I'm so happy to have a short story in the latest issue of the Georgia Review . Thanks to Gerald Maa and Amy Bonnaffons for welcoming it. Been working on this story for a long time, so glad it's now out in the world. Here's a sneak peak

In advance of the book's pub date in late October, I'm going to periodically share the blurbs I've received for No Longer at This Address. First up is this wonderfully generous blurb from Michael McGriff. Pre-order link in bio!
The wonderment in an Andrew Hemmert poem spreads far beyond topic or meditation, far beyond moment, era, or epoch, beyond—even—the gravity of our home planet. The joy here is that the poet fixes his lens on everyday experience and chases meaning wherever it takes him, wherever it might be found. From the microscopic to the astral, No Longer at this Address is twinned with a kind, ravishing loneliness and humane beatitude reserved for those artmakers who travel as deeply within as they do from one sentence to the next. A true delight.

This a remarkably respectful and insightful obituary for one of the all-time greats. "People who did not know that ["Making Love] was about love between two men loved that song . . . Love is love. Between a man and a woman, between two men, between two women. Love is universal, like music.”

I couldn't understand what an editor had scribbled something on the rejection slip, so I took a picture of it and asked an online site that decodes handwriting to tell me what had been written and it told me exactly what the editor had written, even with punctuations. This is when I love AI.
