The "social contagion" thing drives me screaming angry. When I was young I had no clue trans ppl existed. I'd never met anyone trans. I saw cruel caricatures in pop culture occasionally. When I realized trans was a thing someone could be, it hit like a lightning bolt. My life felt newly possible.

This is probably going to sound conservative at first blush, but HIV/AIDS sliding out of the younger (American) queer consciousness has been really bad. Even my age, who don't like being "uncomfy." Many queers act like the straights did where they'd just get a Penicillin shot for Sailor's Malady.

Saw a big northern red-legged frog while camping. They were incredibly chill. Just sat on a mossy rock, unmoving, staring at the river for three hours. I know this because i was sitting near by also staring at the river unmoving for three hours as i was painting… Shoulda painted that frog 😔🐸

Wurm did survive the last session of book three of blood lords, so that means new fit going into book four!

Crystalline Nubulae. I dissolved urea (a waste chemical in cells and a major fertilizer) and glycine (an amino acid) in water and allowed the chemicals to recrystallize on a microscope slide. Here is just one of the space-cloud-like microscapes that formed, this one spanning the area of a lentil.
