I would bet “I had kids and regret it” is, relative to how many people’s actions show they hold it and it how often it’s espoused, probably the most common unvoiced opinion in the world. I’m not saying the taboo is bad! Not all taboos are bad, pretty clear positive reason for that one.

About as useful as any other anecdote, but yes. I was able to quit my job at the end of 2021 for a new one that paid 30% more. Asked for and got a higher salary than initially offered when I started my current job in '24, and have gotten double-digit raises there both of the last two years.

Inasmuch as Force Awakens is an uninspired retread and Last Jedi a curate's egg with two of the main plots not really working properly, it's notable that they're both miles better than any of the prequels. Rise of Skywalker is somehow impressive in managing to be worse than the prequels.

(My actual view is that an important theme of the Sequel Trilogy is: “Turns out it’s genuinely hard to be as awful as the prequels and even showing criminal negligence in the most basic levels of preparation *still* produced two better films before the wheels fell off entirely”)
