@arieltroster.com @strongtownsottawa.ca City staff say we can take out parking lanes and put in anything but bike lanes. No buses currently going down Kent so seems like a perfect opportunity to salvage this project by replacing the previously planed bike lane with significantly better sidewalks.

While we can be skeptical of the population projections from the province. It's quite silly that we accepted the Hemson report which has projections of SFH numbers that do not fit reality. I don't think they were requiring us to accept that part.

I don't know what the right answer is but I think we could do a lot more total sidewalk covering. Obviously that's only doable in some sections without ripping apart half the city. But in the downtown the large overhang areas are the best in winter

For a city covered in snow for way longer than I'd like in a year, it's crazy we don't do them more. Love the large overhang of Nicol building at Carleton, reduces winter maintenance needs and makes it so much more pleasant

The biggest complication for that (though I disagree on how big of a deal it is) is that thermoplastic can only be installed during a specific time of the year as it's very temp dependent.

I've seen the landscapers at Commisioners park, park on the grass when there is a ton of space for them to park on dows lake rd and they wouldn't have to move their vehicles to cut the grass. Parking on grass or sidewalks is just a complete lack of respect to our infrastructure and those who use it

Not excusing the amount of time it will take, and oh boy it will but I believe the garage bags stay up until the green thermoplastic paint is on the pavement. Especially annoying to see the last but most important corner for cycling grind to a halt now that the car work is operational

Really wish POW through the farm had made the cut for urbanization in the TMP. Would help reduce road salt in the farm and could do some really nice sidewalks and cycle tracks seperated from the street.

I have made it clear that I don’t believe it’s acceptable to welcome an organization that is 1) clearly homophobic and 2) has on multiple occasions rejected volunteers who don’t share their statement of faith. It would not be safe for my own family to accept help from this organization.

Seeing streets on a local road ruined with this asphalt where there was previously grass is a bit disappointing. This is on Cartier which is meant to be a local road, yet tons of cut through traffic drives on the sidewalks as they speed along here. Residents deserve safe streets, not speeding.
