Councillor Shawn Menard is a great colleague, and I was happy to get his support while out door-knocking yesterday in Trend-Arlington. In fact, he got to knock on the door of the house on Bellman Drive where he lived for a few years as a young teen. 1/

Happy October, Ward 9! After announcing that OC Transpo's highly-missed express bus route 282 was coming back into service later this month, I saw quite the exciting response on Facebook. Check it out on this short video.

We can't stop the storms, but we can be ready for them. Ward 9 has faced devastating floods, windstorms & power outages. Having led on-the-ground disaster response efforts over several years—including during this summer's floods—I know we must move from reactive recovery to proactive protection. 1/

I just did a rather unusual interview with CBC where the journalist addressed one of the more unusual moments of this 2026 election campaign. I can't predict how the interview will come across, but he was curious about the incident that led to me becoming a GIF.

Yes, I said it on TV: "In Ward 9, there's nothing sexier than a dry basement." 😉 People always say "infrastructure isn't sexy" because you can't hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new water main. But after this summer, the priorities are clear. 🧵👇(1/5)

🏗️ Ottawa’s infrastructure is facing a major crisis—especially in Ward 9, where decades of delayed maintenance on roads, sewers, and facilities created a multi-billion dollar funding gap. Waiting until things break costs taxpayers far more in the long run. (1/5)

Clearly, this line from my opponent in today’s debate had me a perplexed. It was such a ridiculous lie. I’ll have more to say on this tomorrow, but it’s the second falsehood she’s said about me publicly. When I asked her where she got this bit of info: “I read it on Google.”

Glad and grateful to see Hydro Ottawa out replacing those two damaged electrical poles on Baseline Road just east of Clyde. Those are the two poles I showed you earlier this morning at 2:00am. Now there will be brand new infrastructure here, and the lines will be powered back up soon.

This is why there needs to be a very sober and serious discussion about all kinds of infrastructure upgrades - stormwater, sanitary, electrical, parks - to support this intensification. I know that developers have legislated requirements on some infra, but not some needs are not covered.

A lot fewer outages than last night, but many parts of Ward 9 are still without power. I'll keep checking in with Hydro Ottawa, but the intensity of last night's storm means that there are many outages with significant damage to repair.
