For a long time after watching Over the Garden Wall, I really wanted a show or movie that featured Black folks singing 1920s/30s Black American folk, jazz, and blues as the main characters go on some mystical, whimsical, journey that takes them too close to evil and danger.

In 2018, Annalinda Martinez and her daughters became homeless. She went to Georgia's child welfare agency looking for help finding housing. Instead, the state took her children. Then DFCS began charging her for their foster care. Those bills eventually left her $13,000 in debt.
