Just so everyone knows, my class was set up with all of their work for today and I woke up in so much pain I couldn’t walk so I did call out. Two of my kids ended up suspended for starting a fight with a classmate. It is still always less work to go in.

I know every teacher makes this point, but it’s less work to go in and feel miserable all day than call out and figure out sub plans. Being self contained makes it even worse. I’m having a flare up and the lowest energy option is to go in and do 8 different low effort lessons over the next 2 days.

The new TikTok doesn’t exist yet, it won’t think of itself as the new TikTok, and users will spend years using it in ways the app never intended it to be used. Please remember TikTok became what it is on the backs of online content creators who forced it to become a cultural juggernaut.

I don't really use TikTok that much, but I find it fascinating that our government is on the verge of banning an app for national security reasons that are still unclear in the same week that Meta, the largest social media company, says it's now fine to hate LGBTQ people and call us mentally ill.
