So many people I know asking this. We have been getting them in Chicago too and not just NFL - also college football. Friends all over the country noticing. And it is all right wing fear. Not one ad in favor of anything. I’ll note that the unanimous reaction is that the ads are super disturbing.

Something AI is responsible for that doesn't get enough talk: How, when it scrapes a website to illegally steal everything on it, it uses up a ton of its bandwidth allotment, crashing it or racking up massive fees for site owners.

Yes, as an example many people are still using a tab to indent their first line of their paragraphs in Word instead of using the Format menu to automate it. But will typing out questions or commands be more intuitive and easier to pick up? Will they recognize flaws in the outputs when they do?

I’m telling you that the state of literacies and the complexity of lives deeply enmeshed in the bowels of late stage capitalism cannot find a use case for an agent & if they could, people don’t have the scaffolding to imagine one that could be useful

Technology enthusiasts severely overestimate the average person’s desire or willingness or capacity to build and use AI agents. I understand some work roles that could mandate or encourage it but that is no way a tech revolution. Agents are best for structured, clearly delineated tasks.

I'm just floored at how horribly this has been handled. There are adults and guidelines in place to prevent exactly this from happening, and there are so many failures that it's beyond words. Basically the entire ASU athletic admin probably should be put on leave.

Just from personal experience, I've done summertime military training in Arizona, at Fort Huachuca. We always worked out anywhere from 5:30 am to 7:30 am because anything after that was way too hot. We also always, always had access to water.
