I appreciate things like Steam mandating AI slop disclosures because I've learned that some people are about as trustworthy owning up to pushing slop as predators are with consent. Funny how those two things seem to fit together.

Apparently the CEO of Hoyo has stated that in the next couple years HoYoverse will “play one of the most pivotal roles in China’s LLM-AI” I straight up don’t know any other game developer making this much of a spectacle out of its AI use. I understand the cultural difference. It’s still alarming.

When workshop mod browsing I also immediately block anyone that uses AI thumbnail art or admits to vibe coding, and half the time when I next see a thread about AI in that game's discussions it's mostly already blocked users and it makes me laugh.

Petit Planet has Hoyo fans excited because there is an option to turn off the “talk to AI NPCs” and also an option to NOT let the game feed your interactions to their AI models. I would argue that it being in the game period is the issue.
