I want so much to support this man, and believe him when he says that he actually gives the slightest fuck about Jewish New Yorkers. Every time, just as I begin to think it’s possible to trust his assurances, he says something like this and shows me again how foolish I am for having that hope.

The urgency isn't better than this, but it's just a very different feeling. I think my point is that I can't wait for this to be over, for J mostly, but also for me. We tackle the world as a team. We know we are seen as a unit quite often, and we do feel that way. This team is tired, y'all.

The last serious surgery one of us had was mine, and it was pretty dire. I was too sick to stress. There wasn't a lot of time to think. Before that, it was a serious one for her, emergent and full of that urgency. But she doesn't *feel* sick. This is happening at the best time possible.

H wrote a thread about my upcoming partial nephrectomy that expresses how I'm feeling very well, so I'm just going to repost it. Glad the wait is nearly over and we're at the point where we have some things we need to do to prepare for surgery and post-op recovery, because waiting for this sucks.

Signed up for case management through my health insurance (I have more than one qualifying condition for it, lol.), which will get me things like an extra $50 up to six times a year to buy "healthy" groceries with. That'll be nice to have.
