A win for baserow.io over Airtable: I emailed their support and got an email back by an actual human with real, useful information rather than an obviously AI runaround non answer.

My secret, Cap, is that I'm *always* angry about old books. For instance, here's a tiny slice of the millions of books 1931-1986 that have no commercial value, that are digitized, but that we're unable to use in large-scale research because they are illegal to share or display.

This is what every analytics report looks like now. More users! More events! But active time on the site keeps going down since bots "read" faster than humans.

New Users 13.7K, up 7.25%

What's the best way to collect family tree info to later turn into visualizations/html tables? We have some amazingly detailed messy family trees that live currently in photos of massive white board drawings and I am kind of at a loss as to what to do next.

It's a grim question and one that, obviously, pales into insignificance beside the human cost if this happens, but: what happens to a university's institutional repository when the institution fails/goes bankrupt/closes? Has any university taken digital preservation precautions?

New t-shirts, pins and posters
We’ve just released two new t-shirts on our shop, based on slogan suggestions from the community, and featuring lovely artwork from our artist Dopatwo. One is “My friends are not for sale”, and the other is “I write ALT text”. We’ve chosen quality over quantity, as we often do, by screen printing the designs on high-quality, organic cotton. As someone who’s bought a lot of band merch over the years, I can tell you - they feel good to the touch. Our merch is not a big money maker for us compared to direct donations (remember, Mastodon is crowdfunded by the community — there’s no venture capital or investors, no ads or monetization), but it is fun and it helps bring awareness to the platform. We also try to create bespoke, high quality items in limited runs. If we can sell these t-shirts it will allow us to make more cool things in the future, from more cool t-shirt designs, to beanies, hoodies, and more. We’ve also restocked on our enamel pins (have you seen how shiny and glittery the “Live, laugh, federate” pin is?), and there’s some leftover stock of various other items as well. Take a look around the store! On a related note, if you’d like to help spread awareness of Mastodon in real life, **we now offerprintable poster designs in multiple languages**. Check it out! ### Join the mailing list Get notified when new merch becomes available for sale Subscribe See our privacy policy
