I'm currently in Amsterdam and I went by the Anne Franke house. Her and her sister didn't die in a gas chamber, they died of typhus after being severely weakened and emaciated from starvation. Even in the worst horrors, starvation doesn't directly kill, it's the diseases that kill them.
