It’s finally not too early for us to have our decorations up. I haven’t had these up for a month or anything….

I can guarantee that if characters in our books get an HEA, it IS an HEA. They’re not going to die. Not going to split up. They’re safe. Maybe that removes some of the angst and drama, but oh well One of the benefits of being in the romance genre. If it’s not a romance it’ll be clearly marked

Had to reread Gilgamesh recently - why did I never realize how queer it was the first time I read it? Gilgamesh and Enkidu’s relationship was of a depth that can only be explained by the deepest love. And yes, I do think friends can have deep love, but theirs felt like more.

Relistening to Black Sun by @rebeccaroanhorse.bsky.social and it is every bit as amazing as I remember it being the first time. This story blows me away, and the narration is perfection. Just got to the end of Chapter 20, and once again stopped what I was doing to just listen in rapt attention.

Yes! All of this thread. I miss the time we had to see the characters grow, their relationships develop, and the stories bloom. Shows are tighter now and some of that is really good, it condenses the pacing - but we need to breathe with the characters and if we get that we lose something else
