As someone who was forced to use Active Learning in grad school, it was hell for me too. Too many social cues to follow, too many unspoken/unwritten norms to break down. Now I'm having to learn how to lecture properly, since I was never mentored on how to do so properly during my training.

It's literally "just" calculus. Force isn't constant so the work isn't directly proportional to the weight being lifted.

We used a fork of AC at Nebraska and I LOVED it. OpenStax is a good supplement for those students who need a bit more structure in the text (or who need extra practice problems).
