Incredible reporting on how much staff we have lost at DOI over the past two years. Between DOGE cuts, consolidation to the Secretary’s office, and the newly formed U.S. Wildland Fire Service the BLM has lost *45%* of its workforce.

Go to your camera roll and search "boat" and then post a picture of a boat you like.

A group of people in inflatable boats on the calm blue water of Carnelian Bay at Lake Tahoe, with a green pine forest in the background and clear blue sky above. One guy is in the water, his arms supported by the two rafts. One gal is in the boat, holding something in her raised hand. Another is forward in the boat, reaching out to hold a hard shell kayak. Behind her is another guy, hidden from view, with his hand raised holding a yellow canister that the guy in the water had just retrieved from the bottom of the bay. It was a very challenging geocache.

Flippo's ad is confusing when the voiceover says he commanded "over a thousand airmen" but the text on the screen says "hundreds of airmen" I guess a thousand is 10 hundreds but the different word choice is throwing me off.

ROFL YT Ad # 1: Teresa Benitez-Thompson supports men in women's sports, open borders, gun registration and confiscation, and repealing the Trump tax... (Skip!) YT Ad # 2: I'm Teresa Benitez-Thompson and I approve this message. Now that was good ad placement.

So today I walked by what I thought was a supply of Halloween/Fall decorative gourds and it just clicked that, oh, wait, those are the different squashes I've been buying to try. I never recognized that box of "decorations" as food. 🤦‍♂️

Chief should take a tactical pause to examine why we’ve seen so many wildland firefighter fatalities this year. Maybe it was just a bad year. But maybe it’s the agency’s new, aggressive posture on fire suppression? I don’t want to cast blame. But it’s said, safety rules are written in blood.

Part of my house clean up is finally getting rid of the bag of expired/unused medications. It's just been building for years since I didn't know what to do with them. Learned CVS has a collection box for unused meds that gets incinerated. So no meds with alcohol or aerosol meds. Still, 95% gone!

Alt text included. My apologies for missing it on the original post but I was a mess reading it.

Dear beautiful women,
I've started this letter like ten times and deleted it every time because every time I start I cry. So I'm just going to write it.
Your flag matters to me. It matters so much that it's flying at a lesbian household where anyone walking by can see it.
I'm a trans girl so I'm not sure you can relate but I'll try. Most days I'm doing math in my head like which hallway is safer, who I can sit near at lunch whether it's worth saying something or just letting it go. I'm so tired. I don't think people who don't have to do it know how tired it makes you.
I walk past your house almost daily. The first time I saw the flag I slowed down without meaning to. It was just hanging there like it was no big deal but to me it was everything. It felt like the people inside would see me as who I actually am and I wouldn't have to explain or prove anything. My shoulders dropped for the first time all day and I almost cried right there in front of your home.
I know that living here isn't easy for gay people like you where not everyone is kind about it so putting that flag up means risking stares, comments or worse. You didn't have to do it. It would have been so much easier to stay quiet. You did it anyway, and that is the bravest thing I've seen anyone do. Every day it stays up it tells people like me that someone is willing to be brave so we don't have to be alone.
Now I look for it. Some days it's the one thing that makes me feel like I'm not imagining that I deserve to be here. When so much of the world feels like it's deciding whether there's room for me your flag says there is. Please keep it up. You might not know it but it's helping me get through the day.
Thank you for your courage, and for leaving the porch light on for the rest of us.
