🔥 My friends at DMNO have a new devtool: varlock. It’s a drop-in replacement for dotenv, and adds a bunch of cool stuff like validation and type safety. It stores the secrets themselves in password managers or encrypted vaults. The landing page also has a very cool RPG vibe 😄 varlock.dev

I spent hours exploring the color ranges where APCA and WCAG2 contrast algorithms differ. Then I found a site that shows these discrepancies, with the gray area of the chart marking the disagreement range. That's the zone Ariakit Styles will avoid. Thank you so much, Lloyd Kupchanko!

I'm writing a Tailwind utility package that requires just two tokens: background and accent colors. The rest of the UI will automatically adjust, including variations of these colors and contrasting foregrounds, thanks to the new CSS relative color syntax. The DX feels great.

🔥 One of my favourite hidden macOS features is the scroll hotkey gesture. By holding ⌘ (Command) and scrolling down, we zoom WAY IN on the cursor’s location. I learned this trick for highlighting stuff in video tutorials, but it comes in handy a lot in my day-to-day life!

How to determine if it's a nav with tabbable links or ARIA tabs: Design comes first. Then, semantic HTML. If needed, ARIA follows. Designers should first consider how users will engage with a widget and the rest of the page, always striving for the best user experience.
