My biggest gripe with not using Sass is that, sure yes, CSS is pretty capable, but you end up using class names instead of mixins and that shifts where styles are applied from the stylesheet to HTML. Continue to optimize down that path and you end up with something like Tailwind and/or CSS-in-JS.

Cancelled my @1password.bsky.social subscription. I’ve used it since 2014. Do have a good plan for migrating? Not really, I’ve exported what I can, but I can still access passwords and OTPs while the account is frozen, so that doesn’t need to stop me from paying a company that supports fascism.

I’ve been trying to reframe how I build web apps with progressive enhancement in light of local/offline-first. Traditionally, we would build out the server first, then enhance the UI with JS (maybe adding client side routing). But what if there’s not meant to be a server beyond the initial install?

Service workers as modules are really nice when combined with JSON modules. Can just generate the JSON with what needs to be cached, along with a version. No need to be modifying the service worker file. I always was bothered by that.
