The problem is not "are there some tasks that can be automated" it's "can this technology run cheaply enough to make money by providing the service it does well to enough people" and the answer to that right now is no, but there's a big push to make people think that yes is just around the corner.

Now that we have proof that AI generated findings are more likely to be research misconduct taken from those who uploaded their findings, perhaps institutions should rethink AI contracts? If it doesn't prohibit use of what you upload to train the model, you're agreeing to the misconduct.
