If you have a Gmail account, you need to read this. Google's AI now scans your emails and attachments, bank statements, tax files, medical letters, all of it. It turned on by default, and there's a class-action lawsuit over how. Here are 5 moves to shut it off, the switch is hidden in two places:

I love when end of a NYT story obviates the whole purpose of the article: “Similarly, beating Usain Bolt does not mean that the robot has surpassed humans at locomotion in any general sense,” he added. Mr. Bolt did not respond to a request for comment.

I resent the storyline that unmasked and turned Peter Parker into a pariah, and I don't believe Dr Strange would botch the spell that dooms Peter to be forgotten. Even four years later, I have zero appetite to watch a fourth movie. stubhubby.blogspot.com/2022/05/spid...

Not only does my 11-year-old son know the song "Welcome To The Jungle", but he successfully parodied it as "Welcome To The Back Seat" when Mom rode in back with him yesterday. He became a "Weird Al" fan last month and I couldn't be more proud.

The Bistro Box, a roadside lunch shack in Great Barrington, is remarkable for great food, and, even more rarely, the music they play clearly NOT curated by a streaming service. It's gotta be an actual human. I heard "Mary Anne" by Marshall Crenshaw? I thought I was the only one who loved that song.

I read Emily Wilson's strongly negative (and overly long) review of THE ODYSSEY movie. I can rebut her review as follows: an epic poem is not a movie, like a painting is not a opera, or dancing is not architecture. Her review was like "that Seurat painting wasn't uptempo enough"

"Different". I'll believe "different" when they pick a non-white man, not between 30 and 50, as the new James Bond. In this franchise, Craig's non-brown hair was controversial.

Blade Runner takes place forty years In the future.
Not so much science fiction as it is more of a futurism story.
How do things seem to be forty years from now?
It's no musical comedy, David.
