In this work the central focus is a pair of human hands reaching out of the sedimentary rocks and mud at the bottom of the piece, climbing a rope ladder out of early stages of life on earth. The ladder morphs into the double helix of a strand of DNA. This focal point is a drawing in black ink on heavy white paper, that has been cut out and layered in a technique called paper tole, which created a three dimensional effect. The background is a collage of various forms of life from magazine images, coloured pencil drawings, watercolour landscape paintings, chalk rubbings, handmade stencil impressions - plankton, algae, ferns, trees, flowers, fruit, vegetables, mammals, fish, birds, insects (an ant in amber) etc. and over the top of the collaged life, are scattered strands of DNA created out of dimensional fabric paint and acrylic paint.

This won the Mixed Media Prize at a juried exhibition in 2019.

The remains of an 18th century clachan takes up the expanse of the image. Grass and plants have taken over the small stone structure. An opening where the door once stood is in the middle. The afternoon sun casts light and shadow. A line of trees and evergreens surround the structure behind. The sky is blue with a few clouds.

History: a clachan is a cluster of small homes inhabited by people with close kinship or family connections. The land was rented, and the small communities were self-sufficient. However, the families in this clachan faced eviction in the mid-19th century from the wealthy landowner, who turned the area into sheep farming.

Gary Grey Heron was out for a walk when he was caught short, so he pretended to stand still and act like a mannequin with a 3rd leg in the hope I didn't see what was happening.
Now I did warn Gary that if he didn't pick up his waste product (💩) I would be on speed dial to Freddie Fulmar, who would be out faster than 'Streethawk' (if you know you know, if not use Google) 😂.
So Gary decided it was best to retrieve what he had dropped before flying off in disgust because he didn't have a 💩 bag, meaning his wings were a darker shade until he could was it off.

Lisa Little Egret was feeling fresh after an overnight trip to 'Mind, Body & Wings Spa Center', which was a gift for her birthday from her partner Larry.
What Lisa failed to realise was that Larry bought her the Spa Treatment because he had planned a lads night out, which Larry wouldn't have been able to go on if Lisa was at home.
Larry thought he had been smart about it.and covered all scenarios, but Lisa arrived home early and found him drunk on the floor with some half eaten food on the floor beside him.
So in the end Lisa had the last laugh when she chucked a bucket of cold water over Larry to wake him up, so he could tidy up the mess he had left strewn around the house.

Beryl Blue Tit's mind had been pre-occupied recently which meant she was eating more than she had realised, that was until she came across Barry Blue Tit.
Barry was always blunt with his comments and had asked her when she was due to drop her eggs, now although Beryl didn't show it in front of Barry, she was really upset about his comment.
But this was the kick up the rear she needed to do something about her size, and booked a few sessions with the PT down at 'Wings, Bums & Tums' Gymnasium. It wasn't long before she was feeling much better about herself, and was able to look in the mirror and not feel disgusted about her size.

Percy Puffin was enjoying his tryout for his local NFL Team the 'New England Puffins', and had been given the nickname of 'The Fridge'. Now he couldn't decide whether they chose that because he had eaten everything that was in the fridge or because he was as big as it.
Either way he was happy with his nickname and had been chosen to stay on and train with the team for the upcoming friendly against the 'Baltimore Ravens' before the New NFL Season kicks off on the 14th August.
