Absolutely, and @zaminiqbal.bsky.social is the reason I met Alex Bateman, kickstarting my realization of how decades of database generation and open science made alphafold. And by proxy how hopeless it is to disentangle complex biology with anything ai related in the coming decade at least.

Full agree. And IMO that is quite a nuanced view. Major tech companies actively seek to disrupt society, wellbeing and whatever makes life worth living. I would nuancedly and grounded in evidence say: fuckthosefascists. We can discuss AI-merits and lack thereof if based on facts and human decency

It is written quite nuanced and I mostly agree. However, he posted very unnuanced takes (his Asimov post was also a bit silly) and then complains about non-nuanced pushback. His footnote on bluesky discussions therefore feels mostly like injured pride. I see plenty of genuine discussions on here.
