🧬 EMERGENCY SWITCH! 🤯 Bacteria adapt their metabolism to famine in seconds. @uni-jena.de researchers found that 𝘊𝘢𝘶𝘭𝘰𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘤𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘴 use two RNA molecules as molecular switches. An 'RNA sponge' kicks in to ensure survival.
