this is real dunning-kruger stuff he's doing, and I'm not a computational linguist myself, but an answer to why LLMs don't think is that they don't understand the *meaning* of words because to understand meaning you would have to also exist outside of a language model, which an LLM does not

This is how I feel about free/cheap AI tools being pushed on teachers. Upload your lessons, tests, student work, etc. and the tools "level up" the lesson. The advice is generic or formulaic. My worry is the main beneficiaries are not students/teachers/families but b2b customers of that data

n_mols =PV/RT <- do this for each inflated tire on the road. Pressurized at 3 ATM, a mol of CO2 (44 grams) has a volume of near 7 liters. 5 mols fills an est. 35 liter tire. 220 g. The amount of CO2 released annually is more than 10 trillion tires worth. What about energy costs? This is absurd!

So the appeal of art is that it is something outside oneself that resonates inside, right? But slop dissolves that alterity, in that it appeals to the memory of resonance rather than to a perception of it, and so you have a desire that can be infinitely stoked and sated by the Glup Shitto factory.

The diarrhea lettuce company, Taylor Farms, uses slave labor contracted from the Arizona Dept. of Corrections. The backbreaking labor is often performed by imprisoned Mexican nationals who would be otherwise ineligble to work in the US. They are paid $1.50 an hour.

This is a very quarter baked idea but it feels like it would make way more sense to Sovietmaxx with government owned restaurants/food halls instead of grocery stores. You get far more significant economies of scale, less food waste, more time savings for poor people who don’t have time to cook etc.

Cameras and microphones in a room full of minors, run by a company whose other product line is intimacy tech, should trigger way more scrutiny than "trust us, it's closed." What happens to interaction logs? Who audits that? What's the retention policy? None of that is answered in the reporting. 11/

That's not incidental. Under-resourced districts are easier sells for "innovative" tech and harder places to say no when a company frames it as closing an opportunity gap. Rural and Indigenous communities keep getting cast as the beta testers for whatever Silicon Valley wants to normalize next. 4/
