@mrswendymturner.bsky.social gives a great back-to-school reflection idea for teachers! “Time for a new school year and new intentions! One of my adult SEL practices is deep reflection. Here are 4 questions to ask yourself as you head into the new school year. No wrong answers, just YOUR answers!”
A poster titled "New School Year - New Intentions A.B.C.D." includes four sections with various handwritten notes. Each section presents questions: "What will I attempt?", "What boundaries will I keep?", "How will I be creative?", and "What will I keep doing?" Notes include ideas such as fostering spelling skills, using AI as a teaching tool, practicing situational literacy, and supporting educators. A handwritten message reads, "Have a wonderful year!" followed by a heart.

Empathy is the secret sauce that makes everything better! A big part of your Adult SEL skill set is the ability to practice empathy. I believe empathy is curious, connected, and active. If we imagine how someone feels but don't act on it, the empathy is symbolic only. #sel #empathy

@mrswendymturner.bsky.social created this end-of-year reflection chart for teachers, modeled after student reflections! “I think we have to keep it simple enough that people will do it and not feel like it is another burden. We also need to provide meaningful time and space for the reflection.”
“I agree that reflection is critical. I think we have to keep it simple enough that people will do it and not feel like it is another burden. We also need to provide meaningful time and space for the reflection. I just did this one myself, modeling it after some reflections my students did this year. I am pleased with it!”

From @mrswendymturner.bsky.social: “We did a quick reflection in math. The important ideas and feelings we shared were: 1. Share a math topic you are confident in…..capability and pride! 2. Share a math topic you are struggling with…..vulnerability! 3. Share your perfect math day……excitement!”
A large classroom poster titled “It’s a Math Moment” invites students to reflect on math learning. Pink sticky notes at the top show math topics students are confident with, blue sticky notes in the middle show topics they are struggling with, and yellow sticky notes at the bottom describe students’ perfect day of math learning.A close-up of pink sticky notes under a heading about math topics students feel confident with. Students wrote about multiplication, hundreds-tens-ones charts, vertical methods, and number lines, with drawings of place value charts and equations like “3 x 12 = 36.”A section of the chart labeled “Share a math topic” is covered with blue sticky notes where students wrote about math concepts they find challenging. Notes mention line plots, multiplication, vertical methods, time, and adding, with examples like “5 x 6” and “257 + 53.”A classroom anchor chart titled “Describe your perfect day of math learning” is covered with yellow sticky notes from students. Several notes mention place value charts, number lines, time tests, working hard, and using math strategies, with hand-drawn charts, numbers, and math symbols.
