This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.

It comes down to people don't want to take part in small scale individual choices they can make to fight fascism. And I can't make people do that from where I sit or only on a small scale. You could avoid slurs for the disabled that justify the regime's brutality against us, you could wear a mask.

PSA: There’s a difference between wearing a mask or respirator & wearing a gaiter or face covering to disguise identity. It’s important to discern & communicate this nuance because if you don’t, you might encourage elected officials to ban masks for everyone, which would be a public health disaster.

I had jury duty today. I've always gotten out of it in the past, but I pre-decided that I wasn't going to do that this time. Because of this, I was able to help grant freedom to someone I believe was being wrongly deprived of their rights. Fucking amazing feeling.
