saw this bizarre combo while in london for the first time (well. first time not doing no-exploring-time-circus-business) and could only think of other london.

a storefront with a green hand painted sign in a lovely font. the shop is called “F.COOKE” and has the term “live eel importer” also on the main signage. painted on the teo windows of this single building are the phrases “hot jellied eels” and “eye examinations”

first project of the year finished!! some lovely cosy twined handwarmers to be sent to far and distant england. BABY’s FIRST COLOURWORK!!!! these were a mild ballache but ultimately a good bitta fun. having a row counter REALLY helped

photo of me modelling some handwarmers i have knitted, showing the back of them. they are made with a muted green and a vibrant red, with the green being the accent colour on the left hand and the red being the accent colour on the right hand. they have vertical lines that zig zag a little due to the twisting of the yarns for the stitches.

yesterday, exactly two months after i got @stellartim.bsky.social and @benrlmeredith.bsky.social to draw some spirals for me, i got them tatted!!!! joined with a gorgeous pictish crescent/semi intentional symbol of artemis. thank you both for drawing such lovely spirals - they look fucking awesome

a picture showing a tattoo across my shoulders and upper back, there is a downward facing crescent shape at the top of my back that is intersected by one vertical and two diagonal lines. the vertical one ends in a star with a small arc and the diagonal ones travel across my traps to form spirals on my shoulders.

another picture of the tattoo taken at an angle to show how the vertical line sits on the spine.

a close up of the spiral on my left shoulder, there is a break in the line to show where the spiral ben drew ends and the one my tattoo artist drew begins.

a close up of the spiral on my right shoulder, again there is a break in the line to show where the spiral tim drew ends and the one my tattoo artist drew begins.

recent adventures in knitting gloves. one very tasteful pair for a friend and a pair that transform me into some sort of muppet for me >:)

a photo showing off a pair of fingerless cable knit gloves. they are made from a gradient yarn that is shades of green, brown, orange and yellow. they are quite long and have a four strand celtic knot design along the top of the hand.

a pair of blue and green tabi mittens, the fingers are split into two groups of two, giving the appearance of three puppet-ish fingers, or maybe a chameleon hand!

a large stone friend watching the badgers play #art #illustration

an ink ans watercolour illustration of a huge stone humanoid lying on their from and looking blankly in the direction of teo badgers rolling and playing in the snow. only their head and shoulders are in frame, their arms folded under their chin comfortably. behind them is a forest, trees bare in the winter cold. in the centre is a huge tree with a hole under the roots from which the badgers have come. there are some birds in the trees, and some snow has settled on the branches and on the shoulder and back of the large humanoid. their head is roughly shaped, inspired by celtic stone carvings, and they have spiral ‘tattoos’ carved into their arms. moss is growing in patches across them.

been rotating @goblinspod.bsky.social in my mind like a big shiny marble that a has those fun swirls in it

an a4 illustration of a scene from goblins podcast where Elizabeth comes across a large standing stone that should not be there. she is a stocky white woman with red hair holding a torch up to the stone as behind her Nix, a poltergeist whose form is mainly wafting strands of black hair, angrily shouts at her. the stone stands in front of a woodland that sits at the bottom of Cissbury Ring, and emerging from some trees are Tripe and Hooper, two goblins. Tripe has a sack over one shoulder and Hooper is gesturing frustratedly as they walk together. Tripe has sticky up pointy ears and is a lighter green, and Hooper has long floppy ears and is a darker forest green.

a close up of the illustration, showcasing the weird opalescent colours of the standing stone.

got a bit stressed today so i did some ink washes and then got funky with it

three drawings on different pieces of paper. the first is a small rectangle with a green background onto which celtic spiral motifs have been drawn in a blue ink. the second is a page with a green wash on which darker ink has been drawn in a rectangle, but leaving a celtic labyrinth in the middle. the last is a page washed in greens and purples on which a flower, some leaves and a shooting bud are drawn, all with their roots showing

two thin rectangular drawings. the first is on a sheet with a light green wash, it has a stylised swan drawn on it, boxed in awkwardly by the confines of the page. the second is is a page washed in blue that has a negative space bird flying upward towards two stars.

got my first large gauge piercing a week ago. have been feeling like i will receive extraterrestrial communication since.

a small drawing of me hunched over, lifting up my jumper slightly and looking at my belly button, then a close up drawing of said belly button which is pierced with a curve of metal. the metal is extending out of the top of my navel and the jewel on the top of the bar is pointed outward. next to the close up drawing is the text ‘antenna…’ and some little wiggly lines like a signal is being broadcast.

been cracking on w these two for the last couple of days !! nearly time for pencils >:)

a watercolour illustration of a tiny humanoid girl stood on some rock by the sea, right in front of her is a seal sticking its head out of the water. the seal’s head is the height of the tiny figure, who is petting the seal’s whiskers. it is a clear night with a full moon casting moonlight over the bay and shoreline in the background of the drawing. to the left is another seal a little way out also sticking its head out of the water, and on the sandy shore on the right are a collection of seals sleeping.

a watercolour illustration of a tiny humanoid by the foot of a standing stone that is part of a stone circle. the figure is outlined but not coloured in at all. she is in the right hand foreground, with the stone extending out of frame. on the left side is another stone doing the same. there is a verdant grassy field with some small rocks embedded in it, behind them sits the other side of the circle, some of the stones of which have cups and spirals engraved in them. behind the circle the sun is settling. the sunset is light and multicoloured, the sun kissing the grass and the edges of the standing stones.

took myself on a dander today while my friend got a tattoo and did a little life drawing ! brighton is LOOOOVELY

a photo of some fenced in trees on a small bit of green in front of a part brighton museum with some scaffolding outside of it. in the foreground is a small sketchbook containing a coloured drawing of the trees and part of the building on the right page and on the left is a mostly black and white from one of a talk in a conference room.

a close up of the drawing. a gnarly low and sprawling tree sits in the foreground with a much taller one behind it, behind them you can see parts of the stonework and the turquoise tinge of the netting on the scaffolding.

A black and white lino print of two figures embracing with the text ‘love is not a reward for good behaviour’. The two figures are large and androgynous with bald round heads. They are in the middle surrounded by stars, birds, bugs and plants. The is a text at the top and bottom, and at the sides are contrasting borders of a flower with shoots coming out of it. i’m doing a short art course and it’s given me a new lease for life - here’s some exploratory bits i’ve been working on and hopefully i will have four big shiny illustrations at some point in the near future

an ink sketch of a small human and a mouse walking together across the forest floor, there are many trees in which there are birds watching them.

a sketchbook page with two small illustrations contained in two rectangles at the top right and bottom left, with drawings of clinging flowers in the top left and two mushrooms in the bottom right. the illustrations are of a giant lying on their front by the edge of a forest, looking down to a badger. the other is a magpie in a hole in a tree, it is holding a coin in its mouth in front of a nest filled with a fork, watch and some lavender. there is an acorn garland across the top of the hole.

a sketchbook page of six drawings of magpies. they are painted in black ink with bright green and blue colouring pencils on the wings and tail. interspersed with the drawings are small motifs of plants and stars

a sketchbook page split into six different sized rectangles containing drawings of trees in green and brown ink. they are differing shapes and silhouettes

a wood burnt rectangular piece of wood. a woman is curled up inside a seal, she has long hair and is not wearing any clothes. the seal’s head points upwards, there are swirls and spirals around it representing water

the tops of four square boxes each with various celtic motifs wood burnt on them. the top left is three hares in a triangle, ears touching as they run with a triskele between them. the top right and bottom left are two celtic knots. the bottom right is a sun with closed eyes and pouty lips above two swallows flying with a small halo around their heads.

a wooden heart with two barn owls burnt into it, they are cleaning each others’ beaks. they have been painted lightly to be a gentle brown and the white of their feathers has been painted on in small lines.
