That's terrific. And led me down a Discogs rabbithole, where I discovered that *this* was the artwork chosen for the Portuguese release...

AI allows them to LARP at what they think being an artist is. They see people getting praise and want that without the effort. They don't seem to realise that most of the pleasure is in the actual making, and that launching is stressful and praise not guaranteed.

Nikita Bier: Hello computer,

Find every Amazon purchase I ever made.
Call the number of the manufacturer.
Say you’re not satisfied.
Request a refund.
If they decline, threaten to leave a bad review.
If they decline, find the CEO’s phone number and ask him for a refund.

Now, repeat the same process for items I never even purchased and see if you can get them to send me money.

If they ask for a recipient, generate an image of one and send that.

Do not stop until you’ve collected $1 million in refunds.

A beautiful news story from New Zealand where a store has been using an AI-powered shop platform and users realised that it allowed anybody to edit it and started adding products: www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3610...

They also don't understand code, so they'll see that and think it's 80% there and can just pay a dev 20% to fix the bugs.

'Help!' was released on this day in 1965.
The album cover for "Help!" by The Beatles which shows the lads standing against a white background. They're all wearing overly generous blue jackets with black trousers as they use semaphore to spell out the word HELP*. The entire album has been recreated in Fuzzy Felt and the title has been changed to FELT!
* Except they're not. They just put their arms in interesting positions. If it was semaphore, the closest translation would be "NUJV".

40 years ago, ZZAP! published this Mercenary map. It mightn't look like much, but this was the first "proper" map of an actual 3D game world - a 15 x 15 grid that contained buildings, structures, and underground complexes. In 1986, this was astonishing, cutting-edge stuff!
