Launch a random game, sure! Nobody's arguing against that. Sometimes I'll scroll through my Steam game list with my eyes closed, I'm not immune to boredom, but I worry about the sort of person who needs a simulated hit from a Takes Your Money Mechanism as a prerequisite to have fun.

As I said, I'm not worried about wanting the ability to launch a random game. I'm bothered by the slot machine animation, the adoption of the aesthetics of gambling, the specific "gacha" phrasing for something, the need for a "JACKPOT: YOU WIN" dopamine hit before the randomization.

While I don't disagree about the conflation of "gacha" with randomness in general, I feel there's a difference between something like a mario kart item box - a personification of RNG tied to a specific franchise - and explicitly asking for the aesthetics of gambling. One is a coinflip, one is a scam
