Loved the momentary freezing of my reg who then went ‘oh shit’ cos it was 19:40 on a Saturday evening and she was the only one qualified to do the sections at work

First out of hours shifts as an FY1 in O+G at a DGH completed…. It’s never good when the cat 1 alarm goes off whilst you’re already halfway through suturing a uterus from a cat 1 Caesarian.

Live your life so that anti-sex work cops describe your reading room & parlour as a location where “filthy and abominable practices” take place.
In her 1922 autobiography, The Female-Impersonators, June recalled her time spent at Paresis Hall, the hub of the Underworld. Located at what is now 32 Cooper Square near Washington Square Park, Paresis Hall was a nickname patrons dubbed Columbia Hall, a brothel and saloon chock full of sex workers and other members of the city’s queer subculture seeking to connect. Anti-vice investigators described it as a space where “filthy and abominable practices” took place.

Access question: Will the panel be using mics at the event on the 3rd? So many church events don’t and lip reading is a bit exhausting 😅

(Also, our ceremony was held in the church I attend. The one filled to the brim with faithful queers. How serendipitous)

While #synod decided my life and relationship is incompatible with Christian discipleship, I graduated as a Doctor after 5 long years of medical school. Turns out queer, trans and disabled Christians can do AWESOME things. #generalsynod

I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. This is the UK state deciding to intervene directly in the healthcare of individual children, depriving them of medicine that their doctors have prescribed for their personal health & wellbeing, in defiance of global best practice.

I mean it’s a cliche to talk about ‘the gay people in my phone saved my life’ but also, the gay and trans people I met online when I was a terrified lonely teenager did save my so sue me to want to spend a couple hours a day having a chitchat with them in my phone 🙃

My MP didn’t respond to me directly but did raise the issue in Parliament today. Write to your MPs.
I cannot be the only Member to have had dozens of emails from constituents who are dismayed that, under this guidance, the vague, ill-defined and highly subjective term
"discomfort of service users" becomes the litmus test for excluding people from essential services. I heard what the Minister said about associations, but can we be clear whether public spaces will still be able to provide trans-inclusive services? If that is not the case, I feel that this guidance is simply unreasonable, unfair and unworkable.

You know the greatest way to fight transphobia? Be happy. So if you can't do it for yourself right now. Do it out of spite. Live a full life. Pick up that hobby. Join that group. Go on that adventure. One day you'll wake up and realise it's not even an effort anymore. It's just who you've become.

Minority stress shouldn’t be taken lightly and I didn’t know how much I was carrying until I was in a place that gave me the safety I needed to put it all down

Mo @momentsofmo.bsky.social · 25/04/2026
I’d love to say that the reason I’m happier here is just cos it’s warm and I’m on a 50% holiday. But no. It’s mostly cos after the first day I haven’t thought twice about if it’s safe for me to bind in scrubs or talk about my girlfriend.

The government was forced to admit the EHRC’s transphobic draft guidance got it wrong, and they’ve had to send it back to the drawing board. But the fight is far from over. They plan to bring an updated version back to parliament in May. So we need to act – fast 👇

Force the government to rip up the EHRC’s transphobic guidance
It’s been a year since the Supreme Court's decision that accelerated the rollback of trans rights in the UK. It’s been a difficult year, but it’s also been a year of coming together and fighting…

So proud to announce that I am going to be a published poet! My submission was written as an ode to what this body I have allows me to do, even when this body doesn’t always feel like mine. Devour the whole anthology Summer 2026!
Background is a vertical trans flag
Text reads ‘I am being published in; Trans Poetica Transcendent Joe for troubling times’ ‘in collaboration with three small presses’
Logs of written off publishing, Punk dust poetry and Allograph are at the bottom

I know I’ve got some Labour local gov’t types following me, so I want to say this clearly so that you can share it internally as appropriate: I will never again vote Labour while these policies, or Wes Streeting, are in place. I will not vote Labour at any level because of this.

It's going to be really easy to get scared today, especially after the year it's been in the UK for trans people. The best thing you can do is to take care of yourself and to check in with others in your life. There are enough brilliant people toothcombing the report, nothing's going to slip by us

BREAKING 🚨 The updated EHRC Code of Practice has now been sent to the Government. The Code is just as bad as we feared. It would mean a mandatory trans bathroom ban, and trans people's exclusion from public life. The impact would be devastating. But politicians still have time to stop this.

All of my (3!) @greenbeltfestival.bsky.social wristbands attached to my hodgepodge crochet lap blanket made from the last bits of yarn from many different projects, all come together for one creation stitched at this year’s festival. Feels quite apt really.
A crochet rectangle large enough to go over a knee with stripes of different colours. Three fabric wristbands are sewn on in year order.

8 years of debilitating pain, never taken seriously, called uncooperative for refusing hormonal birth control (I quite like not going psychotic), told ‘we won’t find anything’, told ‘there is no treatment’ MRIs showing endo and adeno later and I am now on a med licensed specifically to treat these.

So the government really are just targeting trans people now. The board rejected her appointment because of her obvious bias against trans people & connection to anti-trans organisations. This makes a mockery of the whole idea of the EHRC. www.gov.uk/government/n...
