Soo, my sister just passed the entry exams and was accepted as one of 15 people in Poland to a beer judge certification programme. She was already internally a verified tester at her brewery, now she'll be able to do officially become a cervesario. I am now officially the less interesting sister. 😀

I finally broke my Reviewer 2 spell and gave my first "minor revisions" I hope this was just coincidence and no editors' vendetta against me, to only give me bad papers. (To my defense, the last paper I reviewed I judged for major revisions and the other two reviewers rejected it. I'm not all bad)

She was a kind, smart, compassionate person. A moral compass of a whole nation, never afraid to criticise autocratic tendencies of the governments, or instrumenralisation of history to political ends (which the Warsaw Uprising was a constant object of, esp on the far right). She will be remembered.

Would the Left not be more successful if it only focused on economic redistribution and not social progressivism? The answer is no. People who want redistribution also want “woke” policies. One could know that if one engaged with the research. But then one couldn’t write the same article every year.

This is extremely important research. People (and politicians) very often use the same words, but give them different meanings. I wrote my PhD examining the different meanings of the concept of solidarity. Here's a paper doing it for democracy.

Sometimes you mispronounce a word because you only ever saw it in writing. And sometimes you assume wrong spelling/meaning because you never saw a word in writing. E.g., it was after years of fluency in German that I learned via subtitles in a cinema that it's not "Meine Götter" but "Meine Güte".

What I really wished existed, is some sort of a "save workspace" app for PC. I could then have different projects there, and the app would know which programs with which files (Word docs, PDFs, data software & datasets, a particular session in my browser, co-authors e-mails etc.) to open for each.
